A discussion of recent developments will be provided. The 24-2C point pattern and the SITA Faster strategy will be presented with clinical examples. Virtual reality visual field testing will be discussed with a review of its advantages and downsides.

At the completion of this course the attendee should be able to:

1. Describe the difference between the 24-2 and the 24-2C test point patterns and the reason that the 24-2C test point pattern was developed.

2. Describe the difference between the SITA Faster and SITA Standard testing strategies and the advantages and downsides of the SITA Faster strategy.

3. Describe the clinical situations where the 24-2C with SITA Faster may be preferred over the 24-2 SITA Standard or SITA Faster and why.

4. Describe the modifications in clinical VF testing necessary to optimize the use of the 24-2C with SITA Faster.

5. Describe the potential advantages of virtual reality VF testing over standard perimetry.
